Daniel Meadows: Early Photographic Works

“Daniel Meadows: Early Photographic Works” will show at Cardiff’s Ffotogallery in Penarth

Dr Daniel Meadows’ exhibition “Daniel Meadows: Early Photographic Works” will show this summer at Cardiff’s Ffotogallery in Penarth, 14 July to 8 September 2012.

This is the touring version of Daniels' major retrospective, curated by Val Williams, which launched at the National Media Museum (NMeM) during Bradford's Ways of Looking Festival.

Between 30 September 2011 and 19 February 2012 it was seen by 39,633 visitors making it one of the most popular shows at NMeM in recent years.

The exhibition encompasses Daniel’s major projects, as well as recently discovered work from his archive and coincides with the publication of a new book from Photoworks, Daniel Meadows: Edited Photographs from the 70s and 80s.

“I’ve lived and worked in Wales since 1983 but this is the first time I’ve been offered an exhibition here,” says Daniel.  “I’m very excited.”

The project is funded and supported by a partnership between the National Media Museum, Bradford; Ffotogallery, Cardiff; Birmingham Central Libraries; Photography and the Archive Research Centre, University of the Arts London; and Photoworks UK; with exhibition prints by Metro Imaging, London.
