Magazines produced by Magazine Diploma students
The third Mapping the Magazine conference, organised by Magazine Journalism Director Tim Holmes, will take place at Cardiff University this July.
Following the success of Mapping The Magazine 1 (2003) and 2 (2005), the third in this series, Mapping the Magazine 3 (MTM3), will focus on the task of Mapping The Magazine in all its aspects.
The initial call for papers which closed on 11th of February, asked stakeholders across the magazine industry including magazine scholars, journalists, executives, educators, trainers and media regulators to comment upon the past, present and future of magazines as a unique but diverse media form.
A strong international submission of papers was received from countries including Finland, Switzerland, Romania, USA, South Africa and Australia. A final list of selected papers is expected to be released later this month or early April.
2011's plenary speakers will be Ian Hargreaves (Chair of Digital Economy at Cardiff University) and Nicholas Brett (Deputy Managing Director and Group Editorial Director, BBC Magazines).
MTM3 will take place on July 7th and 8th. Contact Tim Holmes or Julie Jewell for further details. General details are available at the MTM 3 website or follow the conference blog at mappingthemagazine.blogspot.com
