Graduate 100

Michael Mills was short-listed for the Graduate 100 Awards

This month 2010 BA graduate Michael Mills represented the School as a finalist at the prestigious British Graduate 100 Awards and Gala Dinner.

Michael was successfully short-listed from over 13,000 applicants, to compete with ninety nine other graduates across ten categories.

Michael was selected in the Media, Film and Arts category, which stipulated graduates be “able stimulate and inspire with their imagination and expression” in an industry where “demand for fresh thinking, talented newcomers remains high.”

The Graduate 100 is the largest initiative of its kind in Britain. Its concept, developed in conjunction with Britain’s leading employers, universities and key industry figures aims to identify individuals that are not just achieving the best grades, but those who have demonstrated qualities that are not captured on a CV. This includes the ability to think outside of the box by articulating innovative ideas and exercising outstanding leadership.

Dr John Jewell, Director of Undergraduate Studies, who endorsed Michael’s application, echoed the sentiment of the School by saying, “We’re extremely pleased Michael has been recognised by the Graduate 100 Awards. It’s fully deserved and a positive reflection of the quality of our BA programme.

“Michael has placed himself into a group that represents the best of Britain’s graduates. This will complement his CV and boost his career prospects by bringing his academic and non-academic skills to a new audience. We wish him every success in the future and look forward to keeping in touch.”
