The Times Good University Guide 2010 places the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies in its top three - out of eighty seven - Schools/departments for the study of Communication and Media Studies.
Cardiff is one of only three institutions in Communication and Media Studies to make the top five in all three league tables by the Times, Guardian and Independent newspapers
The Times table is significant as it highlights Cardiff’s strengths in both research quality and undergraduate teaching. The table combined eight key performance areas including Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Student-Staff Ratios, Completion and Graduate Prospects.
This latest result comes after the school achieved considerable success in last years Research Assessment Exercise where the school secured the best score of any department (in any subject) in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Head of School Professor Justin Lewis praised the teaching and research staff for the results.
"We’re one of the few institutions in our field who are ranked in the top tier for both teaching and research. This allows us to provide one of the best teaching, learning and research environments in the UK."
