Terror Post 9/11 and the Media and Citizen Journalism: Global Perspectives are part of the Global Crisis and the Media Series

Global Crises and the Media, a new series of 16 books by Peter Lang publications, addresses the media complex roles and responsibilities in the reporting of today’s proliferating global crisis.

Edited by Simon Cottle, Professor of Media and Communications, at the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, the series examines how the world’s media both communicate and constitute global crises on the public stage and thereby help to shape their trajectory around the world.

The first three series volumes have been published in 2009:

Future volumes planned and under preparation include titles on global financial meltdowns, pandemics, forced migrations, human rights, humanitarian emergencies, world poverty and food and energy crises as well as the rise of transnational protests and world journalism.
