National Students Survey listed Cardiff’s BA amongst the top British degrees in its area.

The fourth National Students Survey has again listed Cardiff’s BA (Journalism, Film and Media) amongst the top British degrees in its area.

JOMEC again came near the top of the NSS ratings of undergraduate courses for its BA (Journalism, Film and Media). Journalism BA teaching went to a 91% score (compared to 89% last year) with Media Studies at 90%.

Of 51 Universities the School also finished joint fourth (with 75%) for the number of graduate job positions filled after six months. In all 80% of students either found graduate employment or continued to postgraduate study.

Head of School, Professor Justin Lewis said: “We are delighted with these results. It’s particularly pleasing to remain highly placed. They reflect the high quality of teaching on the degree.”

Director of Undergraduate Studies, Gill Branston added: ‘These are, once more, terrific results for the BA (Journalism, Film and Media) which we are building on again in this teaching year.’

About the survey

The survey asks 22 questions about students’ experience of their final undergraduate year in the areas of Teaching, Assessment and Feedback, Academic Support, Organisation and Management, Learning Resources, Personal Development and Overall Satisfaction.
