The 2008 Reporters and the Reported Diploma in Journalism lecture series will feature leading speakers from the UK media as well as key industry employers and all JOMEC students and staff are invited to attend.
The lectures which are co-ordinated by Richard Tait, Director of the Centre for Journalism, will include speakers such as Mark Byford (Deputy Director-General of the BBC) and Ian Hargreaves (Foreign Office Director of Communications).
The weekly lectures last approximately three quarters of an hour with ample opportunity for open questions and discussion after the lecture. The lectures begin at 11:30 AM in Birt Acres, Bute Building.
Regarding the lectures Richard Tait said, “This lecture has its origins based in the ethics lectures given by the founder of the then Centre for Journalism Studies, Sir Tom Hopkinson.
Friday 5th December - Ian Hargreaves (Truth or Dare?)
“The calibre of speaker and topical nature of the content means that this is a great opportunity for students not enrolled on the Diploma but attending JOMEC to see and meet key UK journalism, media and communication industry players”
