Gaining Employment
At the Cardiff Centre for Journalism, ‘where media careers begin’ is not a slogan. It is our core promise to our students. We know the financial commitment which a period of post graduate study involves.
We have always aimed at a 100% employment record for our graduates and we remain committed to maintaining that record even in the current economic climate.

Our employment strategy has three parts:
1. Ensuring the course is relevant
Our close contacts with the media industry mean that the journalistic and production techniques that we teach are the most up-to-date possible. We started teaching multi-media and multi skilled journalism from the very beginning of the digital revolution in media.
2. Carefully planned work placements
We ensure that students go on the right work placement for them, with good employers who already have had good experience of Cardiff students. In many cases, work placements lead to a job offer.
3. A personalised career service
Our tutors use their contacts in the industry among the main employers, and Cardiff’s many alumni, to ensure that students are aware of the right opportunities for them. We are committed to working with you in your career for as long as you think we can help.
