Core Responsibilities

Undergraduate Degree
  • First point of contact for all Undergraduate enquiries;
  • To process UCAS forms and provide the Admissions team with accurate records and analyses of data throughout the admissions cycle;
  • To organise Open Days, assist with school outreach and widening access programmes, and handle enquiries from UCAS student applicants;
  • To be responsible for the co-ordination of careers events and publication of relevant information pertaining to careers, in co-ordination with the School and Careers Department;
  • To be responsible to the Year One Tutor for the operation and running of Year One, and to generate and maintain Personal Tutor Lists for all students and Seminar Groups;
  • To timetable Year One groups and postgraduate teaching allocation;
  • To handle queries and seminar correspondence between Year One tutors and students, and maintain student files accordingly;
  • To service BA Staff/Student panel meetings;
  • To assist with the administration of the Undergraduate Degree as directed by the Executive Officer;
Postgraduate Research Degrees
  • To be the first point of contact for all research degree enquiries;
  • To support the Director of Postgraduate Research Studies (PGRS) with the MPhil/PhD application process;
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of student records;
  • To assist the Director of PGRS with the arrangement of viva examination and liaison with Registry;
  • To liaise with internal and external examiners with regard to the viva examination arrangements;
  • To assist the Director of PGRS in the monitoring of student research progress;
  • To arrange student presentations;
  • To service the MPhil/PhD Staff/Student panel;
  • To generally assist the Director of PGRS with the administration of the Postgraduate Research Degrees as directed and under the guidance of the Executive Officer;
  • To carry out any other tasks which are consistent with the post as directed by the School Manager or Head of School.
