Core Responsibilities

  • Departmental computer administrator responsible for administration of all users to the Universities and Schools computer systems
  • Apple Macintosh administrator duties, responsible for repair, maintenance and development of the Schools Apple machines
  • Responsible for support of the School's broadcast facilities
  • Windows7 administration duties
    Technical support for the Centre for Community Journalism
  • The installation, maintenance and support of new equipment including all associated hardware and software as instructed by the Technical Manager
  • To provide Technical support for all networked computer systems within the school
  • To work to the technical office rota in order to carry out the following tasks;
    • First point of contact for the technical office managing the front desk and telephone calls, dealing with queries from staff, students and visitors efficiently and effectively
    • To co-ordinate and monitor the equipment booking and release system for students and staff, ensuring loan equipment is set correctly and informing the Technical Manager of any repairs required on the loan equipment
  • To co-ordinate the PAT testing requirements of the School ensuring all equipment is tested and recorded and passed to School Safety Officer
  • To perform upkeep and administration of Schools technical and software data bases
  • To undertake relevant administration duties associated with the technical department
