Emma's phd focuses on the debate over genetically modfieds in the UK. It explores how sources and audiences utilise two key concepts - nature and nation - and how these shape this contentious debate.

Emma spent several years working as a researcher in Cardiff, looking at how a range of scientific and envrionmental risk issues are covered in the media.

When she isn't writing her thesis Emma can be found at the development charity ActionAid working as an International Campaigner on Food Rights.
