Discourse and European Identity

Background

After working as a print and broadcast journalist in the USA and Germany, Bernhard returned to the academic world in the autumn of 2005 to work on a PhD at Cardiff University. His research focuses on Europe as the "Other", the discourse of Europe in non-European, English-language media. He has an undergraduate MA (English-German Joint Honours) degree from Aberdeen University, Scotland and a graduate MA (Newspaper Journalism) from Syracuse University, New York.
