PhD Research

Film Aesthetics, East and West

My thesis is a cross-cultural comparative study of the research of Chinese cinema within China and in the West, by investigating and analysing the difference of how scholars take their approaches in researching the subject Chinese films. Taking this as a case study, it asks the question of whether culture is translatable via the studies of film.
