Bute Library
The University has one of the most up-to-date library services in the United Kingdom. The latest advances in information technology are used to support research and teaching.
With almost a million volumes and over 12,000 different journal titles it is a large resource and still growing.
Subject librarians are available to assist with advice and information literacy training. The library service is organised into a network of libraries, each strategically situated close to the department it serves, to maximise convenience for users.
They are all linked through a powerful computer system, making it simple to find books and journals as well as to reserve books and check details of borrowing.
A wide range of online information resources is available both on and off-campus. Students also benefit from excellent computing facilities, which are being continuously expanded and enhanced.
The main library for the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies is the Bute library.
