Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowships
Application deadline: Friday 31 August 2018
The Royal Academy of Engineering has recently launched a call for Research Fellowships and Engineering for Development Research Fellowships to support outstanding researchers who have been awarded their PhD in the last four years.
The scheme will provide funding for five years with a maximum contribution of £500,000 from the Academy, to encourage the best researchers in engineering to become research leaders in their specialised areas.
Research Fellowship applications are welcome from both UK and international applicants.
In addition to the direct financial support, the scheme offers:
- freedom to concentrate on basic research in any field of engineering
- time to establish a track record in the field
- the services of a mentor (a Fellow of the Academy) to offer advice and to facilitate the formation of industrial links
- restrictions of your teaching and administrative duties, enabling you to dedicate your time to research.
Cardiff University is particularly interested in hosting fellowships from individuals currently based at other institutions.
External applicants will need to contact their host School in the first instance to discuss their proposal.
