Research Assistant (Building Physicist)

Hours of work: This is a full time position of 35 hours per week.

Salary: £24,520 - £28,401 per annum (Grade 5).

Based in the Welsh School of Architecture (WSA), you will play a key role in the new Low Carbon Research Institute’s (LCRI) funded research project to develop urban and regional carbon emission modelling tools to predict energy demand and supply for domestic and non-domestic buildings.

The WSA is the lead partner institution to the LCRI, an exciting £34 million interdisciplinary initiative funded by the European Development Fund (ERDF) dedicated to building energy research, and innovation in low carbon technologies, in Wales.

The candidate will be experienced in the development and application of building energy simulation tools. You will share responsibility for the development of such tools to model the energy performance of the built environment.

You will liaise closely with other staff working on the LCRI Low Carbon Built Environment programme whose aim is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions associated with the built environment.
