To help it achieve its ambitions, it is looking to appoint a senior HR professional to play a central role in developing and implementing a series of key strategic HR priorities in support of the University’s strategies.


  • As a senior HR professional, reporting to the Director of HR, and working with colleagues across the HR team, you will contribute to the review and development of a first-class HR function; ensuring the delivery of a highly efficient and effective customer-focused service
  • You will encourage and develop interaction and collaboration across all HR functions (central and College based) to support the highest possible standard of HR professional service delivery; creating a culture of high performance against strategic priorities
  • You will lead and manage transactional and operational HR activities, ensuring the delivery of a highly efficient and effective customer-focused service.
  • You will lead on communications, consultations and negotiations; contributing to a positive culture through proactive consultative partnerships with representative union bodies and networks


  • You will be a strategic HR generalist, with a relevant professional qualification, working within a complex and demanding environment with demonstrable experience of contributing to organisational success by designing, implementing, and managing innovative strategies across a complex business; promoting leadership and nurturing talent
  • You will possess excellent leadership and liaison skills (staff, unions and stakeholders), a thorough knowledge of the functional area of HR, and be skilled in providing proactive, business-focused HR advice in unionised settings
  • You will have significant experience of leading, developing and motivating teams; creating a culture of high performance and deploying people to achieve strategic priorities
