Our Cooperation Agreement with KU Leuven builds on our long-standing academic relationship with Belgium's largest university.
Our extensive research collaborations have attracted significant European funding and resulted in a growing number of high-impact scholarly outputs.
Our Cooperation Agreement with KU Leuven, signed in September 2014, is designed to boost the development of new research collaborations between our staff, attract research income and offer more opportunities for our students and staff to study and teach abroad.
The new partnership activities covered by the Agreement include a dedicated bilateral staff travel fund to allow staff and PhD students from either institution to spend time at the partner university to develop and deliver collaborative research. The partnership also enables the delivery of collaborative doctoral research and training projects leading to a joint PhD award.
Founded in 1425, Leuven is the world’s oldest surviving Catholic university and the largest university in Belgium. It is consistently ranked among the world’s top 100 universities and as the most innovative university in Europe.
