Feeds and Twitter
Twitter feed experiment has now concluded.
This Status Page website provides feeds (RSS). It enables users to subscribe to auto-updates as the status of services change.
For the last 6 months we've been running an experiment using a couple of rss-to-twitter services to find out
- How easy it would be to provide status information via Twitter; and
- How easy or useful would it be for users to consume the information in this fashion.
The experiment has been fruitful and we have collected some useful data.
Plans are now afoot to move on with the whole way that Information Services Status information is gathered and presented. As part of this we will be reviewing how to incorporate an effective twitter stream into future provision.
In the meantime the twitter feed experiment has now concluded.
