webPrint - wireless printing from your laptop!

30 January 2012

Information Services has launched a new wireless printing service, webPrint. webPrint is a pilot project that enables users of the networked chargeable printing service to print remotely from a laptop or PC to printers in six different locations across the University’s campuses.

To access the service, just log in to myPrint with your University username and password, select the webPrint option, upload your document and then collect from the webPrint printer in any one of these sites:

  • Arts and Social Studies Library
  • Health Library
  • Julian Hodge Study Centre
  • Senghennydd Library
  • Science Library
  • Talybont

Print jobs can be retrieved from the selected printer for two hours. So, if you are working from home to finish an assignment, you can send your document to print before you leave home and retrieve it from your selected printer when you arrive at University. Please note that, after two hours, print jobs will be unavailable to download on your selected printer.

As a pilot service, webPrint is being trialled to assess its popularity and use within the University. As a result, webPrint is not currently available on smartphones or tablet devices, but this could be developed following a successful pilot.
