Romanians visit INSRV's European Documentation Centre

20 librarians and academics, who work in the twelve European Documentation Centres (EDCs) in Romania, spent the morning of 21 June 2010 at the Cardiff EDC in the Aberconway Guest Study Centre.
The visitors were on a study trip to the United Kingdom to see how EDCs operate in this country. Their other visits were to the three EDCs in London (including the British Library and the LSE) but they had made a special request to visit the Cardiff EDC as it has the highest profile and reputation in Romania through European Sources Online, its website and the external training work of Director Ian Thomson.
The visitors were very impressed with the facilities and space available in the Cardiff EDC and with the range of events and innovative activities carried out by the Centre.
After lunch the group were also shown around the refurbished Aberconway Library.
