Reece collection (18th-19th C.)

Originally the library of the Mayor of Cardiff, and antiquarian book collector, Dr. Richard Reece (1772-1850). The collection was donated to the Cardiff University Library by Mr and Mrs Mullins of Llanishen, Cardiff, in the early part of the 20th century. The collection includes works – mainly by British authors – with a focus on antiquities, archaeology, heraldic, local history, grammar, and lexicography. It also covers literature, history, and religion.

Date range: 18th-19th centuries.

Size: c. 1,500 volumes.
