Documents diplomatiques Français (1871-1939)

The collection traces, through letters, telegrams and memoranda to and from the French Office of Foreign Affairs, the development of French diplomacy. Selected by a group of historians and diplomats, the material covers the periods between 1871-1914 and 1932-1939 and provides insight into the origins of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 and the two World Wars. The documents are mostly in French but some of the correspondence with the British Government is included in English accompanied by a French translation.
