Donated Welsh collections (18th-20th C.)

Part of the collection purchased from Cardiff Public Library ‘duplicates’ when they moved from the Old Library building in c.1988.  Much of it has already been integrated into the Salisbury Library collection, but many volumes remains to be checked. The materials from the 17th and 18th centuries have been integrated, but 19th and 20th century material is still being processed. Both books and periodicals are included in the collections, which fill many gaps in all subjects in the Salisbury Library collections.

Date range: 17th-20th century

Significance: Significant in Wales

Size: c. 5,000 volumes

Languages:  Welsh, English

Keywords:  Wales, history, literature, religion,

Notes: Associated with these materials is a collection of 20th century Welsh literature acquired from Clwyd Public Library at the same time as the Cardiff acquisition; these are also gradually being integrated to fill gaps.
