Supported Software

Information Services supports the software which appears on the standard desktops of the networked Windows XP services. Certain Apple Mac and Unix software is also supported.

Software Licensing Information

Licences are for use on machines owned or maintained by the University.

Teaching licences - software listed on these pages which does not have a site licence must not be used for teaching. Please contact insrvConnect for advice on purchasing.

Personal use - information on licences for personal use is available from Information Services Park Place.

Software Support Levels

The level of support provided by Information Services for the use of software applications is classified as follows: 

Class 1
At least two experts supporting the application with one being the lead support.  

Class 2
Best effort made to answer queries but dependent on the availability of staff expertise for that application. Resolution of particular problems cannot always be guaranteed. Note that any problems arising with an application due to installation by INSRV will be dealt with as if the application is fully supported.  

Class 3
Unsupported by INSRV (but may be centrally provided as a convenience to users).
