Connection of Equipment and Lines
It is important to ensure that equipment such as modems, answer-phones and facsimile machines are not connected to the central system until it has been established that the particular item will not cause damage to the exchanges. No such equipment should be connected therefore without the prior written permission of the Telecoms Manager (email@example.com).
There should normally be no need for public network exchange lines to be connected in buildings served by the central telephone system. Requests for public network lines or other services must be directed to the Telecoms Manager in the first instance for approval. Coordinating the installation of any private line/s supplied by an external service provider (i.e BT) is the responsibility of the school / directorate. As are the costs incurred.
