insrvTechnical is situated on the first floor of the Cochrane Building. Support is provided from Monday to Friday, 8.30 to 17.00.

insrvTechnical provide comprehensive audio-visual & IT support services for the teaching and learning spaces at the Heath Park campus.

 

Learning Spaces

insrvTechnical is a point of contact for technical support for pool rooms located at both the Heath Park and Cathays Campuses.

Video Conferencing at Cardiff University

insrvTechnical is the primary point of contact for information and booking for the video conference facilities throughout Cardiff University.

Audiovisual services

insrvTechnical can provide additional audio-visual support for the lecture theatres and seminar rooms within the Heath Campus. The following equipment is available for booking:

  • Digital Camcorders
  • PA systems with radio microphones
  • Turning Point handsets
  • Display boards

When booking equipment on Tel: 029 206 88143, please give 24 hours notice.

 

Off-air television recordings

Programmes from free-to-view digital channels can be recorded onto DVD, the only restriction being Open University programmes which are not covered by the Educational Recording Agency (ERA) licence held by Cardiff University.

There will be a minimal charge for this service to cover material and administrative costs.

  • DVD copies are £5.00

To request a recording, please contact insrvTechnical on Tel: 029 206 88145 at least 24 hours in advance.

It should be noted that, under the terms of the ERA licence, staff and students of the University may record programmes broadcast via ERA licensed channels themselves (using ‘home’ equipment) for non-commercial, educational use on campus.
