Remote access guide for Mintel using Athens
1) From an off-campus pc, go to www.cardiff.ac.uk/insrv/eresources and click on Databases > M. Scroll down the page and click on Athens off-campus link next to Mintel.
2) Click on the athens log in button.
3) Type in Athens username/password at the Athens Authentication Point, then click Logon.
4) A page appears - Mintel Academic Access - User Details.
5) Fill in all relevant information on the above page. An email containing your Validation Code will be sent to the email address with which you registered.
Click Save when you have completed the form.
If you do not receive the email containing your validation code, please check you entered the correct email address. Edit your details if necessary by clicking on the Edit personal details button and then amend the email address.
6) You will be presented with the following screen - Mintel Academic Access - Enter Validation Code.
Enter your Validation Code in the validation box as shown in the above screen.
Once you have entered the validation code, click the Validate button.
Please note - Registration is only required when you log on to Mintel (off-campus) for the first time and you only need to enter the validation code once. The next time you log on using your Athens login, you will go straight to the terms and conditions page.
7) You will then be presented with the terms and conditions page.
If you agree to the terms set out therein, click the I agree button, and you will be taken through to the Mintel reports database.
After having successfully registered, the next time you want to log on to Mintel with your Athens login.
a) Go to Mintel and Athens off-campus.
b) Click on logon button.
c) Type in Athens username and password, then click OK.
