Rhythmyx: Adding Further Content Types to Your Web Pages
Rhythmyx is the content management system (CMS) used by many schools and divisions to publish information on the Cardiff University web site (http://www.cf.ac.uk). Use of a CMS allows you to focus specifically on the content that you need to publish thus simplifying the process so that you no longer require an in-depth knowledge of HTML tags to create and format your web pages.
This single-session course follows on from the introductory course Rhythmyx: Creating and Updating Web Content to look at how additional types of web content can be created and included both within your web page as well as in the navigational border, or slots, normally on the right-hand side of the page.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- create new content item types, e.g. images and documents
- add content items into your web pages as inline variants
- understand how to use slots to add reference materials to your web page
- link existing content items into slots using Active Assembly
You must have experience of using Rhythmyx to edit content of web pages. It is advisable that you have already attended the Rhythmyx: Creating and Updating Web Content course but relevant experience may have been gained from practical use of the CMS.
Half-day workshop - length of training 3 hours.
The cost of attendance on this session is £45 for members of staff and students of Cardiff University
Please note that the topics covered on this course are only applicable for members of Cardiff University who are required to publish information using Rhythmyx, the University CMS system. Due to the internal nature of the materials covered, bookings from anyone not associated with the university will not be accepted for any Rhythmyx courses.
