Microsoft PowerPoint 2013: Creating Presentations

Topics Covered

The content of this course looks at how to get started with your first PowerPoint presentation and as such, this course is ideal for anyone needing to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create, as well as present, a straightforward computer based presentation using a slide show displayed through a data projector.

Topics covered in this course include:

  • Creating your first presentation.
  • Adding slides and using different slide layouts, e.g. bulleted slides, tables, charts, etc.
  • Formatting slides - text, bullets etc and use of themes
  • Adding images and shapes to slides.

The course will allow you to see how a simple slideshow can be created and how electronic presentations can be controlled.

Prerequisites

To be able to use PowerPoint, it is important that you are familiar with the Microsoft Office interface and use of the mouse and keyboard. This introductory course will focus specifically on the use of Microsoft PowerPoint to create and present simple presentations so standard skills like formatting text, saving and printing documents, etc. will be assumed.  Due to the similarity of the interface across Microsoft Office applications you may already have these relevant skills but if not, they are covered by the Microsoft Word: Creating and Updating Everyday Documents course offered in our schedule.

1 x half-day session - length of course 3 hours.
