Microsoft PowerPoint: Comprehensive

This one-day course provides a comprehensive overview of the process of creating high quality presentations, incorporating text, images, sound and video, using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Topics Covered

The content of this course looks at all the elements that make up a PowerPoint presentation and as such, this course is ideal for anyone needing to use PowerPoint to create, as well as present, a computer based presentation and slide show.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • create an on-screen presentation using various slide layouts and styles
  • apply suitable formatting using templates and slide masters to consistently control the appearance of the presentation
  • enhance your presentations by the inclusion of images, charts and audio/visual materials
  • produce and control a PowerPoint slide show

Prerequisites

To be able to use PowerPoint quickly, it is important that you are familiar with the Microsoft Office 2010 interface and use of the mouse and keyboard. Due to the similarity of the interface across Microsoft Office applications, it is recommended that you are also able to create and format a simple document with relevant skills covered by the Microsoft Word: Creating and Updating Everyday Documents course.

This comprehensive course will focus on the use of PowerPoint to create and present presentations and so will assume the standard skills of formatting text, saving and printing documents, etc.
