Digimap

Digimap provides collections of online maps and spatial data covering Great Britain.  The Ordnance Survey Collection includes a range of services for viewing, printing and downloading Ordnance Survey maps and data from the present day.   

To use the Digimap Ordnance Survey Collection, you will need to login with your computer username and password. If you are using Digimap for the first time, you will be automatically directed to a registration form. You will receive email notification when your registration has been processed. Please allow up to two working days.

Google Maps
Interactive maps and satellite images which can be retrieved by place name or postcode.

Landmap: satellite image and elevation maps of the British Isles

Provides orthorectified satellite image mosaics of Landsat, SPOT and ERS radar data, and a high resolution Digital Elevation Model for the British Isles. Data can be downloaded for use with appropriate application software. Also includes the Feature Collection which provides building height and building class data for the UK in shapefile format.

Once you have entered your CU Login details, you will need to register with Landmap.

Multi-Agency Geographic Information for the Countryside (MAGIC)
Online interactive mapping service which provides data on envrionmental schemes and designations for England.  Maps datasets can be downloaded for use with a GIS.

UKBORDERS

Provides digitised boundary datasets and post code data for the UK which can be downloaded in several formats.

Two sets of data, contemporary and historical (1840-1920), are available for a variety of administrative boundaries for England, Wales and Scotland.

You will need to register at the Census Registration Service. Once registration is confirmed you may login to UKBORDERS using your Cardiff University network username and password.
