Find academic publications such as journal articles and conference papers
Databases such as Pubmed, Scopus and Web of Science identify articles across a huge range of journal titles. Sometimes databases offer direct access to the full text if Cardiff University subscribes to the journal. If full text access isn't offered through the database you are using, click the Check for full text button if the database has one, or use LibrarySearch to search for the title of the journal in which the article appears to see the date ranges for which we have access in print, online or both.

| British National Formulary | BNF twice yearly source of up to date guidance on prescribing, dispensing and administering medicines. |
| BNF for children (registration required) | The essential resource for clinical use of medicines in children. |
| British Pharmacopoeia | An authoritative collection of standards and medicines in the UK. Includes monographs for the British, European and veterinary pharmacopoeias. Requires a password for us off-campus. |
| Drug Tariff | The electronic Drug Tariff provides access to the current edition of the National Health Service Drug Tariff for England and Wales. |
| electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC) | The eMC provides data sheets, Summaries of Product Characteristics and Patient Information leaflets for prescription medicines in the UK, and is searchable by brand name, generic name, or company name. |
| Martindale | Current information on drugs and medicines, preparations, ingredients, pharmacological and therapeutic groups and diseases. |
| PubChem | Search for chemical structures using names, synonyms, keywords or by drawing a chemical structure as the query. Search for deposited chemical substance records and bioassay records. |
| SciFinder (registration required) | Chemistry information database. You can search for substances, reactions, and patent and journal references. |

Find Patents and British Standards
Patent titles are usually deliberately vague and difficult to find, so when conducting your search ensure it is worldwide, think about the scope of the patent and the original company and individuals (inventors).
