Find academic publications such as journal articles and conference papers
|ArticleSearch from LibrarySearch is an easy way to find some online journal articles and other high quality sources on a topic. It’s important to sign in to get full access. ArticleSearch doesn’t cover all of the online journals in the library collection but it is a quick and easy starting point and all results will be available in full-text. To use ArticleSearch, go to LibrarySearch and select the ArticleSearch tab. Leave QuickSearch as the setting in the menu on the right-hand side.|
Databases such as Ei Compendex, Scopus and Web of Science identify articles across a huge range of journal titles. Sometimes databases offer direct access to the full text if Cardiff University subscribes to the journal. If full-text access isn't offered through the database you are using, click the Check for full text button if the database has one, or use LibrarySearch to search for the title of the journal in which the article is published to see the date ranges for which we have access in print, online or both.

Some databases require your Cardiff University network username and password for off-campus access. These databases are available for all staff and students of Cardiff University but because of licensing restrictions they are not available to external members and visitors.
|Google Scholar is a useful search engine for finding academic publications. If you use it on-campus it will automatically connect you to Cardiff University subscribed full-text but if you use it at home you will need to set this up. At the top right hand side of the screen click on Settings then Library links. Enter Cardiff University in the search box and then select the Cardiff University results by ticking in the boxes. The Full Text @ Cardiff links will now appear with your results and you will be able to access subscribed full-text articles once you log in with your network username and password.|
