Finding journal and news articles

To search for articles from a range of journals or news sources you can do a keyword search using the electronic databases. The main databases you will need are:

ABI Inform/Proquest
Full text of business-related articles from approximately 1,800 journals.

Nexis
A comprehensive newspaper database which is updated daily. Provides full text access to all United Kingdom national newspapers, plus regional newspapers, international news providers and a number of trade journals and magazines. Also includes company data and annual reports.

Lloyd's List
 International maritime and shipping news, available in print in the Aberconway Library journal section

Flight International Directory
Contact information for civil and military aviation, airports, air transport and trade and industry. Located at classmark 387.70942 F

International Logistics Abstract
 Bi-monthly bulletin covering books, journal articles and details of forthcoming conferences and courses in the logistics field. Located in the Abstracts section at the beginning of the reference section.

 Located at classmark 387.1 L

British International Freight Association

Chamber of Shipping
Trade association for British shipowners and ship managers. Facts and figures on British shipping industry and full-text of press releases.

Campaigns for a sound and sustainable transport system.

Freight Transport Association

Institution of Highways and Transportation

International Union of Railways
The IUR promotes cooperation between railway enterprises at an international level and carries out research in passenger and freight transport and infrastructure management. This site features reports and statistics.

Marine Society
Supports professional seafarers, providing education, libraries, practical sea training, and support for professional development. Archive of news releases and information on training opportunities.

Office of Rail Regulation
Covers legislation, codes of practice and service delivery agreements within the British railway sector.

Road Haulage Association
Site lists events and details of regional offices with the association's road haulage policy and overview of the industry.

Transport Research Laboratory
Independent centre specialising in surface transport issues. Provides research-based technical help.
