Finding journal and newspaper articles

To search for articles from a range of journals you should do a keyword search using the electronic databases. The main databases you will need are:

 

ABI Inform/Proquest
Full text of business-related articles from approximately 1,800 journals.

EBSCO Business Source Premier
Full text of articles from approximately 3,600 business journals.

Nexis UK
A comprehensive newspaper database which is updated daily. Provides full text access to all United Kingdom national newspapers, plus regional newspapers, international news providers and a number of trade journals and magazines. Also includes company data and annual reports. The database includes a number of Japanese publications.

Printed and online reference sources

There are a range of Japanese to English and English to Japanese dictionaries located at classmarks 495 to 503 in the Aberconway library. The Kenkyusha Japanese to English and English to Japanese Dictionary is available at classmark 495.63K in the Aberconway library.

There are also Japanese encyclopaedias in the Aberconway Library at classmark 952.

A gateway with links to web sites including Japanese business and economics.

Library of Congress - Asian Division
Information sources on Asia. Includes access to a searchable bibliographic database with information about Japan (legislation, economics, industry, politics and social conditions) from 1993-1999.

Prime Minister of Japan and his Cabinet
A web site with news about the Japanese government.

A Library of Congress gateway with links to various relevant web sites.

Union List of Japanese Serials and Newspapers
Current Japanese serials.
