Innovation Campus

People connect, collaborate and create at Cardiff Innovation Campus.

Our leading facilities bring thinkers and makers together to ignite ideas. We turn research into spinouts, start-ups, social enterprises, products and partnerships.

We have been forging collaborations across all sectors since 1883 – working with industries, charities, public institutions and government bodies.

Cardiff Innovation Campus features two bespoke centres.

sbarc|spark is home to SPARK - the world’s first social science research park - and Cardiff Innovations – a creative space for start-ups, spin-outs and partnerships, many aligned with societal themes.

Next door, our Translational Research Hub features two leading scientific research establishments – the Institute for Compound Semiconductors and Cardiff Catalysis Institute.

Both complement our wider Maindy Road estate. The nearby Optometry building opened in 2008, followed in 2013 by Hadyn Ellis, which brings together experts in schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease and stem cell cancer research for the first time. Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre, one of Europe's flagship facilities for brain research imaging, launched in 2016.

We excel in connecting academics, students staff and our partners worldwide.

Our outlook is global, our lifeblood is Wales. Come and join us. We are the Home of Innovation.

Cardiff University Brain Imaging Centre (CUBRIC)

CUBRIC’s mission is to understand brain and behaviour in health and disease through advanced imaging and cognitive methods.
