Digital Branding Device
The University has also developed a digital branding device which can be used on digital media only (not for use in print) where the full logo may be unsuitable for use. This may be due to screen size being so small, the full logo may be illegible when reduced in size. Examples of this are iPhone and Android app icons, Twitter avatars and the University's global web header.
The Cardiff University digital branding device should not be used without permission by the PR Team or Web Management Teams of Cardiff University. See the Contact page of this Visual Identity website for details of how to get in touch to obtain permission. Unauthorised use on Cardiff University-owned digital media may see it removed and replaced with the full logo.
Usage
- The digital branding device is used in the 'v2' user interface and look and feel of Cardiff University's website. It should only be used on websites with permission of the PR Team or Web Management Team.
- Wherever possible, the device should be used in conjunction with the full University logo. This may manifest as a background image on a Twitter account, or with the full logo in the footer of a webpage that uses the digital branding device in the header.
- The digital branding device must never be used in print media. It is only for screen use, and in exceptional circumstances only.
To obtain artwork for the digital branding device, first seek permission of use through web@cardiff.ac.uk or by contacting the PR Team.
