Prospective Students Open Days

The dates of the next HUMSS inter-school Joint Honours Open Days are:

Wednesday 19 February 2014 1.00-4.00pm

Wednesday 12 March 2014 1.00-4.00pm

Attendance at these Open Days is by invitation only

The applicants' programmes will begin in John Percival Building in Lecture Theatre 2.01and the parents' programmes will be held in John Percival Building Lecture Theatre 0.31. There will also be an applicants' introductory session through the medium of Welsh in room 0.36.

Campus Tour

If any visiting applicant arrives in Cardiff early, s/he is welcome to come on a short campus tour in Cathays Park which will show the location of some of the academic buildings, libraries, Students' Union, etc., at 11.30am.  Any applicant wishing to join this tour should email  humss@cardiff.ac.uk to book a place.  Accompanying parents will have their own similar campus tour later in the afternoon.

The programme for applicants includes a welcome, watching a dvd about the University, visits to both schools in which the applicant wishes to study, a short tour of the Union and a presentation on Student Life by the Students' Union President. The parents' programme includes viewing the residences dvd, plus a talk by a senior member of staff and a one hour question and answer session, when the senior member of staff is joined by representatives from the Student Advisory Service, Library/Computing, the Careers Service and Student Residences and by student representatives, followed by a short HUMSS- related campus tour and tea.
