Equality and Diversity
Understanding Unconscious Bias
This session concentrates on explaining that much of our social behaviour is driven by learned stereotypes that operate automatically – and therefore unconsciously - when we interact with other people. It explains how people can genuinely believe in equality, while simultaneously engaging in behaviour that favours some groups and not others. This is then put in the context of The Equality Act 2010.
