This session gives an overview of the duty to promote disability equality which came into force in October 2010 as part of the Equality Act 2010. It explores what ‘promoting equality between disabled and non-disabled people’ means for the University and highlights the key messages derived from the involvement of disabled people in the development of the Disability Equality Scheme and Action Plan.
