Personal Tutoring
1 day
The role of the personal tutor is a complex and demanding one which includes providing pastoral and academic support.
The aim of this workshop is to enable exploration of the personal tutor role as well as opening up the possibility of other ways of working by sharing the experiences of colleagues from other Schools. Included are basic listening skills, a framework for tutorials together with signposting support services and when and how to refer students to the support services available within the university.
While there is a focus on the pastoral elements of the personal tutor role, participants will also have the opportunity to evaluate the different models of personal tutor support that operate across the University.
