Managing Research Data - Key Aspects of Legal Compliance and Records Management

This course covers the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act, in terms of research data, as well as good practice in the management of research records, whether in paper or electronic format. Topics covered will include informed consent and fair processing notices, confidentiality, storage media, retention periods and data security. Aspects of the Freedom of Information Act will also be covered.
