The 2010 Recognition of Service event took place on Friday 29th October in the Glamorgan Building celebrating the achievements of staff who had attained 25 or 40 years of service between 1st October 2009 and 30th September 2010. 43 awardees were recognised this year, 33 of whom had achieved 25 years service and 10 of whom had achieved 40 years service. The group of staff being celebrated at this event have cumulatively dedicated 1,225 years of service to Cardiff University.

The celebratory event began with a drinks reception in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms, which was accompanied by harpist Eleri Darkins. Awardees then moved into the Glamorgan Council Chamber where they were welcomed by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Staff & Diversity, Professor Terry Threadgold. The members of staff were congratulated and presented with their certificates by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Grant.  After the award ceremony, a seated buffet was held in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms.
