Recognition of Service
The University’s traditional Long Service Awards were reviewed and relaunched
as the ‘Recognition of Service’ celebrations in 2008 following feedback from staff across the University.
The Recognition of Service celebrations now take place on an annual basis and celebrate the achievements of staff who have attained either 25 or 40 years of continuous service at the University.
The first Recognition of Service event took place in June 2008 and recognised the achievements of staff who had attained 25 or 40 years of continuous service between January 2006 and June 2008. For details of the event including photographs please click here.
An additional event was held in November 2008 which retrospectively recognised the achievements of staff who had attained either 25 or 40 years of service while working at the University of Wales College of Medicine pre-merger. For details of this event including photographs please click here.
The third Recognition of Service event took place in September 2009 and recognised the achievements of 55 members of staff who had attained 25 or 40 years of continuous service between 1st July 2008 and 30th September 2009. For details and photographs from this event please click here.
October 2010 saw the fourth Recognition of Service event, where the achievements of 43 members of staff who had attained 25 or 40 years of continuous service between 1st October 2009 and 30th September 2010 were recognised. For details and photographs from this event please click here.
The most recent Recognition of Service event took place in November 2011 and recognised the contribution of 38 members of staff who had attained either 25 or 40 years continuous service between 1st October 2010 and 30th September 2011. Together, they have achieved 1013 years of service at Cardiff University!
