Positive Health + Environment Week (PHEW)
PHEW 2014 was our 6th annual PHEW event.
Taking place from 30th June to 11th July 2014, the programme included 104 different activities, many of which were repeated at different times and locations to enable as many members of staff as possible to participate.
Over 1200 members of staff took part in fitness classes, sports tournaments, health checks, adventure and craft activities, workshops and talks, tours of some of Cardiff's fascinating sites and exhibitions, music and dance, complementary therapies and more. All of these events aimed to encourage, support and develop the health and wellbeing of Cardiff University’s employees.

Why is PHEW important?

Ensuring that the health and well being of staff is supported is extremely important if we are to ensure that we have a happy, healthy and productive workforce. Since the first Positive Health and Environment Week in 2009, it has become a popular annual event in the University calendar. It is clear from the feedback we receive after each event that PHEW is something which staff have found enjoyable and valuable, enhancing their experience of working for the University.
