There are a number of groups and committees that meet as part of the Positive Working Environment initiative, as detailed below.

Positive Working Environment Steering Group

The Positive Working Environment Steering Group oversees the work of the Positive Working Environment initiative.  The Steering Group is chaired by Professor Terry Threadgold, the Pro Vice Chancellor for Staff and Diversity.  Meetings of the Steering Group have taken place since its establishment in September 2007 with meetings taking place at least two times per academic session. The dates of the meetings for the 2010-11 session are:

  • 22nd November 2010
  • 18th April 2011

Positive Working Environment Coordination Group

The Positive Working Environment Coordination Group drives the operational aspects of the Positive Working Environment initiative. The Group is chaired by Jayne Dowden, Director of Human Resources.  The dates for the 2010-11 session are as follows:

  • 27th October 2010
  • 30th March 2011

Health and Wellbeing Working Group

The Health and Wellbeing Working Group was established in 2008.  The group considers items that affect the health and wellbeing of staff at Cardiff University, and incorporates representation from many different areas of the University, including Staff Counselling, Occupational Health and Safety, Sport and Exercise, the Day Care Centre, the Optometry Eye Clinic, Human Resources, the Staff Networks, Campus Services and the Student Volunteering Centre (among others).  The group will meet on the following dates during the 2010-11 session:

  • 14th March 2011

Communication Strategy Staff Group

As part of the work taking place on the University’s overall Communication Strategy, and in light of her role as Chair of the Positive Working Environment Steering Group, Professor Terry Threadgold also chairs the Communication Strategy Staff Group, which will work on improving communication at the University for staff.  This is a particularly important piece of work as highlighted by the results of the 2008 Staff Attitude Survey.  The group meets approximately every six weeks.  The dates of the meetings during the 2010-11 session are noted below:

  • 28th October 2010
  • 7th December 2010
  • 10th January 2011
