Celebrating Excellence Awards

Cardiff University’s first Celebrating Excellence Awards ceremony took place on 23rd October 2012. It was a glittering occasion, hosted by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Elizabeth Treasure, at which 27 members and groups of staff were presented with awards.

These Awards represent the University's appreciation of staff who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution, and who are recognised for going above and beyond the call of duty.  They support and reinforce the University's strategy and values, rewarding individual, team and collaborative achievements across research, learning and teaching, innovation and engagement, and the University's operations.

There were 11 categories of award plus 2 trust fund prizes, designed to be open and inclusive, thereby allowing for the recognition of a variety of achievements by our incredibly diverse staff.

Any member of staff could nominate any other member/group of staff to receive an award.  We received over 60 nominations, and all are congratulated for being recognised by their colleagues for representing the highest level of effort, excellence, innovation and best practice.
