NHS and Social Care services are facing unprecedented demand. Research undertaken in this theme helps to provide evidence about current and new ways of working to meet increasingly complex health and social care challenges.

Our research seeks to directly inform:

  • innovations in the health and social care workforce
  • improvements to care delivery models and practices
  • enhanced patient safety systems and
  • effective engagement with patient and carer groups.

Our projects consist of interdisciplinary collaborations with health/social care practitioners and researchers from across Cardiff University and internationally excellent Universities from the UK and globally.

We draw on a wide variety of research methods and approaches from health, management and social sciences to better understand patient safety, improvement science, workforce innovation and public engagement.
