Coach Attendants Needed
We are recruiting people to be coach attendants on some of these trips. You must be a Cardiff University postgraduate student, with good spoken English and an outgoing personality. Previous experience would be an advantage. We are not able to offer payment for this, however, your coach fare for the trip will be free. Oxford, the ‘city of dreaming spires’, has a fascinating history. Famous for prestigious Oxford University, it is also the birthplace of Alice in Wonderland. Christ Church, the setting of Hogwarts Hall in the Harry Potter films, is a must see. Internationally renowned museums such as the Ashmolean Museum and the Museum of Modern Art provide something for all ages. The trip will depart at 08:00 from the front of the Students' Union Building on Park Place. Please arrive about 15 minutes prior to departure time in order to be checked in for the trip. Bath was developed around the site of ancient thermal springs, which are now part of one of the UK's top five attractions, and has been designated a World Heritage Site. Bath is famous for its Roman Baths (admission charge), Pump Room, Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge, and the Circus. The trip will depart from Cardiff at 08:30, arriving at 10:00 approximately. Please arrive about 15 minutes prior to departure time in order to be checked in for the trip. We leave Bath at 18:00, returning to Cardiff about 19:30. All times are approximate and may vary. Stonehenge is a world-famous prehistoric monument, dating back thousands of years. Sited on Salisbury Plain, ten miles to the north of Salisbury, it is a series of concentric rings of standing stones which surround an altar stone at the centre. Salisbury is an ancient city famous for its beautiful cathedral, visited by 600,000 visitors from all over the world every year. The trip will depart from Cardiff at 08:30. This trip takes you to the Royal Borough of Windsor.  Windsor is most famous for Windsor Castle. The castle is an official residence of the Queen and the largest occupied castle in the world.   Many of Windsor attractions are in the town centre or can be reached by local bus.  You can spend a day visiting the castle, you will have to purchase your entry ticket on arrival as it is not included, maybe take a boat trip up the Thames or catch a train from Windsor into Paddington or Waterloo, so you can even visit London for the day. The trip will depart at 08:00 from the front of the Students' Union Building on Park Place. Cheddar Gorge & Caves Experience  (Bookings Open 15 February 2016)

Cheddar Gorge is one of England's most iconic and spectacular landscapes. At almost 400 feet deep and three miles long, this is England’s largest gorge, and with its weathered crags and pinnacles, one of our most spectacular natural sights.  During your fun-filled day you will have a guided tour of Gough's cave, visit Cheddar Man Museum of Prehistory and, if you are feeling energetic, climb the 274 steps to the lookout tower before taking a cliff-top gorge walk.  If you then feel like relaxing you can enjoy the Gorge open-top bus tour, where you will experience amazing views and fascinating commentary.  Unfortunately due to essential maintenance you will be unable to visit the smaller Cox's cave and Crystal Quest.  All the above attractions are included in the ticket price.  You many consider visiting The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company, the only cheesemakers left in Cheddar, where you can watch various stages of the cheese making process, £1.95 per adult payable at attraction on the day.  The trip will depart from Cardiff  08:30 from the front of the Students' Union Building on Park Place.  Please arrive about 15 minutes prior to departure time in order to be checked in for the trip.  We will leave Cheddar at 17:30, returning to Cardiff about 19:30.  Visit their website to find out more about Cheddar Caves & Gorge http://www.cheddargorge.co.uk/

Slimbridge Wildfoul Trust and Bourton-on-the-Water (Bookings Open 25 April 2016)

This trip will involve visiting Slimbridge Wetland Centre where you can get up close to rare and exotic birds, mammals and the largest collection of amphibians in the UK, set in the tranquil surroundings of the nature reserve. We will then go on to the small Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water which has been described as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds and is one of the most popular tourist spots in the region.  The trip will depart from Cardiff at 09:00.   Please arrive about 15 minutes prior to departure time in order to be checked in for the trip.  We will spend approximately 3 hours in Slimbridge before travelling on to Bourton-on-the-Water from where we will depart at 18:00 returning to Cardiff about 20:00. Hay on Wye (Bookings Open  - 9 May 2016)

Hay-on-Wye is a small market town located near the border of Wales and England. The town is notable for having around 34 second-hand bookshops. We will be visiting at the time of the Hay Festival.  Feel free to wander around the festival, or simply explore the many second-hand bookshops of Hay. Cambridge is a beautiful, historic city, famous for the prestigious Cambridge University which is made up of different colleges, some of which have old and beautiful buildings. The colleges' buildings are usually arranged around courts. It is possible to walk round some of these and visit chapels and halls. Please be aware that some colleges charge an entrance fee.  The trip will depart at 07:00 from the front of the Students' Union Building on Park Place. Join us for a trip that is great for all ages. Bristol Zoo Gardens are set  within 12 acres of beautiful gardens. You will come face to face with over 400 species of exotic, endangered and adorable animals from the four corners of the globe. You can see the family of gorillas, stroll through the tropical Butterfly Forest or become immersed in the impressive Seal and Penguin Coast. Some other Zoo favourites include Monkey Jungle, Reptile house, Asiatic lions, Bug World, Twilight World, and the Aquarium. Tenby is a walled seaside town in Pembrokeshire, southwest.  It has 2.5 miles of sandy beaches; the 13th century medieval town walls, including the Five Arches barbican gatehouse; the 15th century St. Mary's Church; the Tudor Merchant's House (National Trust); Tenby Museum and Art Gallery; and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, part of Wales' only coastal National Park. Gower Coast - Three Cliffs Bay & Rhosilli  (Bookings Open - 18 July 2016)

On this trip we will visit two of the best beaches in South Wales.  Firstly we will visit Three Cliffs Bay, before going on to Rhossili which is located at the most Western part of the Gower Peninsula. Here you will find Worm's Head, which stretches out to sea and becomes an island when the tide comes in. The breathtaking view is completed by the long sandy beach and the towering cliffs. Rhossili Bay was voted as the best picnic spot and the best beach in the UK in June 2010. Brecon Beacons

We will first visit Garwnant Visitor Centre, situated at the Southern end of the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is run by the forestry commission. It offers 400 acres of beautiful woodland with many nature trail walks. We will then move on to Brecon, the largest town within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Enjoy losing yourself in the narrow streets and passageways lined with Georgian and Jacobean shop fronts. We plan to spend 2hrs in Brecon before going on to the Brecon Beacons Mountain Centre, run by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority and the most popular visitor attraction in the National Park. The Mountain Centre stands 1100ft / 335m above sea level offering stunning views of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in South Wales. An adjacent moorland ridge known as Mynydd Illtyd offers some fine, easy-to-moderate graded walking. The trip will depart at 09:00 from the front of the Students' Union Building in Park Place.
