The Graduate Centre is the home for postgraduate students at Cardiff University

Cardiff University is among the few universities in Britain to offer a dedicated facility for its postgraduate students. The Graduate Centre was opened in September 1999 to provide year-round, centrally-located social and study facilities to both taught and research postgraduate students at Cardiff University, in addition to the facilities provided by individual academic schools. Today, the Centre serves as a hub for postgraduates of all disciplines throughout the university, allowing students the opportunity to meet and socialise within the broader postgraduate community, and adding another dimension to life as a postgraduate at Cardiff.

Management and Supervision

The Graduate Centre is a co-operative venture of Cardiff University and Cardiff University Students' Union. A Steering Committee made up of postgraduate students, University staff and Students' Union representatives oversees the development of the centre, whilst the day-to-day operation of the Graduate Centre's facilities and services is the responsibility of the Graduate Centre staff, who are university employees within the Registry, Governance and Students (REGOS) Division of the University. The Head of the Graduate Centre reports directly to the Director of REGOS. The Students’ Union directly manages the bar service within the Café Bar.

The Centre is staffed throughout our Opening Hours, including nights and weekends - which are covered by postgraduate Student Wardens.

The members of Graduate Centre staff and current postgraduate Student Wardens are listed with contact information on our Staff Contacts page.
